Almost Paradise

Lest you all think we are livin’ the dream life…well, okay we are, but it seems only fair to show you that there are some not so wonderful things about our move to Costa Rica, just to balance it all out.

Now, I know I had some of you at the snake picture, but here goes…

I am super susceptible to bug bites - mosquitoes, ants, spiders, “no see um’s”, fleas, bees ..if it has jointed legs and three body parts (head, abdomen, and thorax with wings attached or in the case of spiders, two body parts and eight legs…oh..and teeth or some other sort of pain inflicting apparatus) it will find me and try to eat me.

Check this guy out trying to get at me while I was in the car.

A closer view of this little terrorist -

And just in case you don’t believe me, here is the proof:

Now, I know I am “fresh meat” et al, but this is getting a bit out of hand.

As many of you know, I am not a fan of anything of a pharmaceutical nature going either into my body or on my body, but the heck with that.  Today, it was off to la farmacía for some help.

And for approximately $21 US, I received this magical elixir. Guaranteed to stop the itching, burning and accelerate the healing.

After a few applications, I am feeling much better.  And to cheer myself up, as well as offset those “ugly legs”, I got this lovely pedicure.

Back to livin’ the dream life!

    Hi Jamie,
Sorry about the bites. That would be me also. If it’s out there it will find me. The picture of your pool with the view in the background is absolutely beautifully. I’m so jealous. I look forward to coming to visit someday.
    Love ya,
    Gail

  2. Jamie says:

And believe it or not, Gail, the pictures do not do this lovely house justice. Every morning when I wake up, after scratching for a few minutes, I still can not believe how absolutely magnificient it is! And we look forward to you coming to visit!

  3. Deb says:

I hear you about the pharmaceuticals AND I know that the bugs truly do love you. They see you coming and say ‘Jamie? Cool, our snack has arrived!’

  4. Jamie says:

They do love me, so I have decided to just love them back! There are over 300,000 different types of insects here in Costa Rica, so that’s a heap o’ lovin’ that will be happening here, darlin’!
